A growing number of cities and regions around the world are forming Food Policy Councils (FPCs) and similar groups known by other names, such as multi-stakeholder food forums/platforms, food policy networks, food boards, food coalitions, food partnerships, and food labs. They bridge the gaps between authorities and citizens to secure sustainable food policies: mapping local food resources and facilities, designing and implementing projects and programmes, convincing authorities to purchase from local farmers, etc.
