Cooperativa Sociale

The Cooperativa Sociale is a particular form of Cooperative introduced and regulated by the Italian Law 381/1991 and Decree 112/2017 as a Social Enterprise. It qualifies as a particular form of Cooperative Company aimed at pursuing the general interest of the community in the human promotion and social integration of citizens.

Social Cooperatives are divided into two types:

  • aimed at providing social, socio-medical and educational services, vocational education and training, extracurricular training, job placement (type A);
  • carrying out different activities - agricultural, industrial, commercial or services - aimed at the work integration of disadvantaged persons (type B).

Mixed type A and B cooperatives may also exist.
